Si trova sulla cima di una collina che sovrasta il fiume Bisirico alla frazione di Pertisi nella parte bassa del paese.    

Costruita prima del 1500 le notizie che si hanno sulla sua costruzione sono poche.    

Si sa però che il 1575 si tenne un pubblico "parlamento" perprocedere a delle opere di restauro e consolidamento, queste, con quelle effettuate dai fedeli nel corso degli anni hanno conservato la chiesa in ottime condizioni.    

 Essa faceva parte di un grosso complesso di cui oggi restano solo le mura diroccate.    

Qui si trova una grande cisterna sotterranea che doveva garantire un elevato approvvigionamento di acqua visto che oltre alla chiesa vi si trovava un grosso edificio.    

A questa cisterna si attingeva tramite un pozzo (che tante leggende ha ispirato) che ancora si può ammirare.  

The Church of the Madonna del Carmine is on a hill in the hamlet (frazione) of Petrisi, the lower division of the town.  

Very little is known about this church, except that it was built before the year 1500 and that in 1575 a public meeting was held in order to discuss repairs.       

Throughout the years, the faithful have always contributed to its upkeeping.      

In the past, it used to be part of a larger compound; today only a few crumbled walls withstand.       

The compound, on the whole, used to require a massive water supply which was drawn directly from an underground tank.      

The well  has given way to many legends and is still visible today.
